Real Oviedo forward Ibra appeared in the Press Room this morning as the team returned to training, and analysed Sunday’s draw against Mallorca at the Carlos Tartiere.

The striker declared himself “annoyed at not having won a match that we had under control. I think the team played well, but this division is like that and all of the matches are like that. We have to keep being positive, be more awake in some passages of play, and try to score two or three with the chances we create, in order to seal the points.” On an individual level, Ibra felt “good”, although he also said that “I don’t like talking about myself,” preferring to talk about the team instead.

Asked about the upcoming matches, Ibra was unequivocal, highlighting that, “we have to think only about Depor. We need to play well, get the points, and then we can think about everything else.”

Regarding the affection shown by the Tartiere crowd, the striker explained that, “when the fans give everything to support us, we have to give everything on the pitch. Things can work out for you or not, but you can’t stop running or trying. Every opponent is very difficult, particularly when you play at home since you are expected to win. The goal at the weekend was offside and so we were unlucky, but that’s part of football. We have to go about our business, be positive, and I’m sure that if we do so we’ll get more points both at home and away.”

Asked whether he preferred to play in a formation with two strikers or not, Ibra said that, “it’s a question of the match, our opponent and everything else. It’s something that the Coach and his staff know much more about than us players,” he concluded.
