Real Oviedo Head Coach, Juan Antonio Anquela today appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón.

Ahead of the match in Coruña, the Coach began by giving an injury update, highlighting that, “Alanís is fine now and could start the match. Aarón has a slight knock and we’ll see if he’s available. Saúl won’t play in Coruña. He doesn’t have anything serious, but we have to be cautious. He is very strong, but we have to be careful.”

Regarding the next opponent, Deportivo de la Coruña, Anquela highlighted that, “they’re a real promotion candidate; they have everything. They’re a good team, know what they’re playing for and have quality. Depor is a team that will be up there.”

Asked what the team has to do to get a positive result at Riazor, the Coach reasoned that, “it’s about being the same team as normal, but with a little more consistency. We need to be professional, play football and go out to win. We have to be a bold team, which knows that if it plays well it can compete against anyone. I’m happy with the work the team has done. On Sunday we did everything possible to win, but we didn’t win. We have to keep believing in what we’re doing.”

With Aarón Ñíguez possibly missing out on the Matchday Squad, the ‘Carbayón’ Coach commented that, “Yoel could be an option on the wing or anywhere else. We have to analyse things well and do as we see fit in order to make the team comfortable.”

Finally, regarding what a win in Coruña would mean going into the Sporting clash, Anquela highlighted that, “we mustn’t think beyond Coruña. Last year we won the derby at the Tartiere and it was as if that was it, but there was still a long way to go. We won and then went on a bad run, so for that reason we must only think about Depor,” he concluded.
