Real Oviedo player Santiago Homenchenko appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón this morning, speaking to the gathered members of the media. Los Azules are going into the final stage of the season with ambitious targets. The Uruguayan began by declaring that "the team is doing well and I think that it's capable. You always have to have a good mentality, a winning mentality, and that is what you are seeing. All of the matches are difficult, but that is something that I experienced at Peñarol."

He then added that "all of these matches are difficult. There is always something at stake, and the league position doesn't matter. We have to be mentally prepared for what is coming up."

Regarding his role since arriving and his chances of starting against Alcorcón due to the absences the team is suffering, Homenchenko highlighted that "I would like to get more minutes but I can't ask for more. The team had been doing well, and I have teammates in front of me who had been doing well. We are in a period of the season where everyone has to be looking in the same direction."

"I am prepared to do the best I can. I don't know if I am going to play, but I train well every day and can offer a lot of security and ability when bringing the ball out. I haven't spoken to Dani Calvo yet."
