Real Oviedo travelled to Madrid this weekend to face Alcorcón in Matchday 32 in LaLiga Hypermotion. Los Azules went into the encounter after picking up a point against Racing de Santander at the Carlos Tartiere, and with the clear aim of picking up a win which would allow them to take a huge step in the table. In front of several hundred travelling Oviedistas, Luis Carrión opted for a starting eleven made up of Leo Román, Viti, Dani Calvo, Luismi, Abel, Colombatto, Jimmy, Cazorla, Sebas Moyano, Paulino de la Fuente, and Alemão.

The Asturians went into the match with the idea of dominating play against an AD Alcorcón side in desperate need of three points in their relegation battle. Santi Cazorla dictated the play and tried to dominate the middle of the field, while the hosts looked to do damage on the counter attack. In the 9th minute Paulino de la Fuente sent the first warning shot on the half-turn, but he was unable to get the better of the home keeper.

Alemão also had an opportunity to open the scoring from a fine Sebas cross, but his header deflected off his own shoulder and went wide. A stupendous pass from Cazorla left Sebas Moyano through one-on-one, but, despite his good first touch, the winger couldn't quite get the better of the oncoming goalkeeper. The home team also had chances, but did not create too much. The two teams went in for half-time with the score 0-0 and all to play for.

Carrión's team were clearly on top after the interval. In the 51st minute Cazorla thought that he had scored his first Real Oviedo goal, but his effort was ruled out for Alemão's offside in the build-up. The Asturians attacked relentlessly, and found the back of the net once more shortly afterwards. Second-half substitute Masca rifled home a venomous right-foot effort, but it was ruled out once more for offside. The score remained 0-0, and Seoane and Borja Sánchez came on in place of Cazorla and Sebas Moyano.

Heading into the final stages of the encounter, Alcorcón made no mistake from their only opportunity of the second half, and it would ultimately be enough to see them take all three points. Mosquera's effort from outside the box deflected off Luismi and past Leo Román to make the score 1-0. In added time Masca went close to finding an equaliser, but his low effort was denied by a good save from the keeper.

Today's loss was a tough one to take for Real Oviedo, with the team ending Matchday 32 on 48 points. Los Carbayones now turn their attention to the next league fixture, which will see them face Villarreal B at 18:30 on Sunday at the Carlos Tartiere and look to get back to winning ways in front of their own fans.
