Real Oviedo continues to advance in its internationalization strategy with an ambitious project in Egypt, which combines training, competition, academy development, and institutional relations with some of the country's most important clubs.
The Oviedo delegation, with a team formed by members of the International Area of the Real Oviedo Foundation, has just returned to the Principality after this first activation phase. During their stay, the Club participated in the Evolve Unity Cup, held in the city of Hurghada, where more than 30 players from the Real Oviedo School competed as part of a four-day camp. The participation was a sporting and educational success, with the team being crowned champions in two of the four categories contested (2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016), reinforcing the work being done at the grassroots level.
Beyond the competitive aspect, the trip served to strengthen ties with Egyptian professional football through institutional visits to prominent clubs such as ENPPI, a first-division entity recognized for its commitment to youth talent development, and Al Ahly, the most decorated club in the African continent. These meetings allowed for the sharing of experiences, work methodologies, and the exploration of possible future collaborations.
Real Oviedo also took advantage of the visit to witness firsthand the growth of its academy in Egypt. The project, initiated in September 2025, already has two operational locations and around 160 players, with plans for expansion and the opening of a third location in the coming months. A firm commitment to the development of grassroots football and the comprehensive training of young players in the country.
Additionally, the Club experienced an emotional reunion with some of the nearly 30 Egyptian players who have participated in training programs in Oviedo over the past three years, consolidating a bond that will continue to strengthen with the organization of an upcoming visit by a group from the academy to the Asturian capital this coming summer.
With this project, Real Oviedo strengthens its international positioning and its commitment to a sustainable growth model, based on training, cultural exchange, and the transmission of the values that define the blue identity.
