The Carlos Tartiere this afternoon hosted the final home game of the 2018/19 season for Real Oviedo Vetusta, which saw ‘Los Azules’ draw with Racing de Santander.

‘Los Carbayones’ came out onto the pitch determined and confident of bidding farewell to their home crowd with a victory, in front of the 1500 fans in attendance. The game was back and forth during the first half. ‘Los Azules’ displayed great skill in controlling the ball and building from their possession, while looking to open the scoring. Javi Rozada’s side took advantage of the wingers’ directness and tried to create danger from their positions on the flanks. Despite their efforts, the first half ended 0-0. Real Oviedo Vetusta struck first in the second half, however. Steven Prieto took advantage of a rebound inside the box and put the ball into the back of the net. Racing de Santander responded after conceding, and began to threaten Lucas’ net, but the keeper made a number of fine saves to try to hold onto the lead. In the final minutes though, the Cantabrians were able to equalise.

Real Oviedo Vetusta added another point to their tally and closed a great season at home. The crowd recognised them with a warm ovation at the Carlos Tartiere. ‘Los Azules’ will finish their season next Saturday, with a trip to Durango.
