Real Oviedo midfielder Edgar today appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón.
What have you made of the team so far this season? Do you believe that the feeling around the team is better than the results?
- I believe that we are doing things well. All of us here see how we work day in, day out, and people are aware of the way in which we are competing in the matches. We are fighting and having chances to win, but we are finding it hard to get the three points. We have to believe in ourselves and in the work that is being done. We have to keep going in this way.
What do you think is lacking in order to get better results?
- We have to limit the small mistakes we are making and look for clarity when it comes to creating chances, so as to then convert them.
What were the things you liked best and least in the match in Girona?
- What I liked best, just like in all the other matches, was the team's personality. We always look to dominate the match and we are competing very well. What I liked least was not having many clear chances and lacking a little bit of control of the game. In the end, we were comfortable, never felt like we were struggling, and the way the match ended was a shame.
What did you think of the passage of play where you were brought down in the box and the referee didn't award a penalty?
- For me it was a clear incident. I'd got in front of the defender. I felt it was a penalty, and felt the same after seeing the footage back. We have to forget about it. We've got a difficult game coming up and we have to focus on getting the three points.
After your opening matches in the Segunda, what do you make of the division?
- It's what I expected; an even division, with quality. The matches are tight, and small details make the difference. It's what I expected. The teams get through a lot of work.
How do you feel alongside Sergio Tejera in the middle of the park?
- At the moment very good; we understand each other. It's easy to understand each other when you play alongside good players, and Sergio is clearly one of those. I think we have to improve on things and keep working, but I believe that we are both comfortable.
You've started all six matches so far. Are you expecting to rest in one of the matches in the coming days, given the tightness of the schedule?
- That's up to the Coach, because as long as I feel fine physically I am going to be available for him.
Is there a big difference between playing in a team with an attacking midfielder and playing with two strikers?
- They are different systems. If you play with two fixed strikers, you don't have the attacking midfielder who lets you play through the lines, but you gain a reference point up front. It doesn't change a lot, and our defensive shape is similar in both formations.
