Ziganda's side returned to training today, and Real Oviedo midfielder Edgar González appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón.
You had a great match yesterday, scoring two goals, hitting the post, and getting through a lot of work for the team. How are you feeling?
- Very happy, particularly thanks to the team's victory. Results hadn't been going our way, and these last few points are important for the team's confidence.
Do you think that this is the path that Oviedo have to follow, after the last three good performances, and particularly after yesterday's match?
- It's obvious. We are playing well and working well. The team is a solid group, we are creating, and we have to continue along these lines.
The Coach spoke yesterday about the understanding that you have with Tejera. How do you feel alongside Sergio in central midfield?
- I feel comfortable with him. He's a great player and we understand one another. We get the best out of each other; it's good for the team.
What has been the key to the victories arriving now? How much do the two consecutive triumphs strengthen the team, particularly with the latest one being so convincing?
- The key lies in always believing in ourselves. We are united and sure that we are on the right track. The key has been working daily, with humility. We have won the last two matches, but we haven't done anything yet. We have to keep working in the same way. Our aim is to pick up points every week.
Did the way in which you were getting into the opposition box so much yesterday come off the back of a request from the Coach, or was it your own initiative?
- The Coach gives us that freedom to look at the options and interpret them. We have to be focused on the fact that we are the link uniting the attack and defence.
Do you believe that Real Oviedo have now found their way of playing, or have the playing styles of the opponents in the last two victories also played their part?
- I think the way of playing has been similar right since the first match, but we have improved in attack. We are a united team, who make sacrifices, and are hugely committed. Our improved finishing has tipped the balance. We knew that we were on the right track, but we were missing the finishing touch that we have had recently.
On Friday you visit Zaragoza, which is another team that has started the season with poorer results than expected. What are you expecting from the match?
- They are a team that plays good football and it will be a very difficult match. There are no easy three points, but we are in good form. We need to be true to what we are. With effort and hard work we can hurt anybody.
You started out as a centre back, then moved forward to defensive midfield, and now you have more and more of an offensive role. Do you feel like you are currently in one of the best spells of your professional career?
- It's true that I've played a few games in this role now and I am getting the hang of it more. I am happy with how I am helping the team. I am committed to the daily work that will allow me to keep improving.
You are on loan from Betis. What are you hoping for from this season with Oviedo?
- A positive year for the team will mean that it is one for me too.
