Following the earthquake which devastated Mexico a few weeks ago, Real Oviedo wanted to show their solidarity, with an initiative to collaborate with those affected by the catastrophe. The first team wore a special edition of the home shirt in Albacete, which bore the message, ‘Albacete - Real Oviedo. 24 de septiembre. ¡FUERZA MÉXICO!’ ‘(Albacete – Real Oviedo. 24th September. STRENGTH TO MEXICO!)’ Those shirts were then auctioned on eBay España over the course of the last week, and raised a final total of €8.013,01.
The entirety of the total raised will be donated to those affected by the catastrophe in Mexico through the following organisations; Fundación Carlos Slim, Fundación Telmex y Telcel, and Telcel y Telmex. Real Oviedo would
like to thank all participants, as well as eBay España, for their assistance in carrying out this initiative. We hope that it will serve, not only as a financial contribution, but also as emotional support to
those affected by the earthquake. ¡Fuerza, México!
