Matchday 13 in Group I, Subgroup B of the Segunda B saw Real Oviedo Vetusta face Cultural Leonesa today at El Requexón. The match ended in a 3-1 victory for the visitors.
The first half was clearly dominated by Vetusta, with Emilio Cañedo's side beginning the game very well and enjoying the better of the chances. Meléndez, Sandoval and Cueto began to create danger, particularly from Eloy Ordóñez's crosses into the box. Zubiaurre in the away side's net had towork hard to deny the B team's attempts on goal. However, Cultural then made the most of some Vetusta misfortune, with Prada turning the ball into his own net. The teams went in for halftime with the score 0-1.
The second half began with Rober Sierra seeing red for a second yellow card, but Emilio Cañedo's side did not let their heads drop and managed to equalise through a fine strike from Ámez at the back post. However, Cultural's numerical advantage began to weigh heavy on Real Oviedo Vetusta, who conceded for a second time in the 67th minute. Cañedo turned to his bench, bringing on Joselu, Steven, and finally Armenteros, who made his Real Oviedo Vetusta debut. As the B team pushed for an equaliser, Cultural managed to extend their lead still further. Lorea came on in the final change for the Asturians.
There is no time for Vetusta to feel sorry for themselves. They will play the rescheduled match against CD Covadonga this Wednesday and attempt to bounce back with a win.
