A Letter from an Oviedista

Avelino Rubín has sent the team this message of support, from himself and his two children

There are no reactions yet. Be the first!
"Good afternoon. I am writing you a short message to show support for the
footballing situation of our team.
My name is Avelino Rubín. I was born in Pola de Lena and have lived in La
Virgen del Camino (León) since 2002. I am the father of Manuel and Juan.
You already know Manuel, since the Real Oviedo community area has
collaborated with us in the International Day of OI (OSTEOGENESIS
IMPERFECTA), 'BRITTLE BONE SYNDROME'.
At this time when neither the results nor the play are going our way, I
wanted the players to be able to read this letter.
I want them to believe that they have everything they need to be able to
enjoy and make history at Real Oviedo, like many of their predecessors did,
and for them to be able to reflect on it.
My son Manuel is mad about football and about Real Oviedo. We travelled
from León every weekend that our team played at home and we even tried to
travel to away games that weren't too far away from us.
He played football until he was diagnosed with his disease aged 6. Since
then, after becoming an Oviedo season-ticket holder, he has been able to
fill the void that had been created by not being able to play football due
to the potential risk.
For that reason, I ask that when strength, technique and determination
don't give them the expected results, we always have one more bullet in the
chamber, which is our heart.
I am also going to share a few lines from my sons, Manuel and Juan
I feel so bad when we lose, and I understand how you feel in those
moments. But I enjoy the victories hugely, with the same intensity. Come
on, you are the team that is in my heart.
And little Juan says "come on team, we are going to win!"
Sending you a lot of strength, and we are always with you, because you are
like family to me.
Best wishes
*Avelino Rubín*
