Real Oviedo defender Dani Calvo appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón this morning ahead of a new week's training.

The centre back was absent for Sunday's defeat at the Martínez Valero due to suspension, and began today by analysing the encounter. "It was a difficult match, and you start on the back foot after the penalty. The game plan fell apart, particularly on a psychological level. The second goal killed us. Mentally, the team didn't work. We were overwhelmed and the result could have been worse. Now is the time to erase it from our minds, correct the errors, work on the mental aspects, and focus on Huesca." In addition, regarding Elche's performance, Dani Calvo reasoned that "they got forward in numbers and we weren't organised. It could have been a heavier scoreline. We have to deal with the defeat and the mistakes, but in a constructive manner. We are focused on Huesca now, there's no time to stop."

Asked about the contrast in the team's performances at the Tartiere and away from home, the defender declared that "there's a big difference, but it shouldn't be like that. The only thing that changes in away games is not having the fans pushing you on. We have to be more consistent away in order to fight for bigger targets. We have to change our chip, and maintain our hunger and ambition away from the Tartiere. Everyone needs to know what they do at home in order to take it into away games. We have to work on this a lot, because the team can't change so much from home matches to away matches."

With respect to the impact of certain players being absent in recent weeks, Dani Calvo believes that "people being out weakens the team. We have to get people back as soon as possible, because that will allow us to compete better and improve us as a team. We are going to make Real Oviedo better away from home."

Real Oviedo will face SD Huesca this Friday at the Carlos Tartiere, in Matchday 17 in LaLiga Hypermotion. The centre back stated that "the good thing about football is that every weekend you have the chance to bounce back. We are focusing on that match now, and on getting players back. We are doing a good job at home and we hope to maintain this run at the Tartiere."

Finally, asked about SD Huesca, Dani Calvo highlighted that "I follow them, since I'm from there. Antonio (Hidalgo) has done a good job as the coach. They are coming here in need of a win, but it's a solid team and we have to be prepared for it. We have to be patient because it won't be easy to break them down, but we have to build the moves and move the ball around in order to find gaps."
