Real Oviedo goalkeeper Nereo Champagne today appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón.
With the team currently going through another week of training, with two sessions today, the captain commented that "I think the team is looking good, hungry and with desire.  We want to prepare well for Sunday's match; that's the only thing we are thinking about."
Regarding the Lugo fixture, Champagne stated that "the first half was even, without too much action.  We created danger in the second half, but couldn't equalise.  It's true that defeats push you down the table, but those of us with experience have to bring confidence and calmness.  We must go into each match using the day-to-day work as the basis.  We have to think about Sunday, because we have the tools to come through this."
With respect to how the situation affects the squad, the Argentine admitted that "this is a passion for us.  We play to win, and when you don't win you go home angry.  It's time to clear our minds and keep going.  This is football.  Everything can change from one week to the next."
Champagne was asked how he, based on his experience, sees the situation and what is left of the season.  The keeper commented that "since 2009 I've battled against relegation seven times, and I've always come through it. Here, I base everything on day-to-day work.  We all want to be together and train, and that makes me optimistic.  This is football, and everything will come through training."  In addition, regarding clean sheets, the Argentine said that "we are finding it hard to keep them due to minor details.  The team isn't as strong as it needs to be, but it's not like other teams are creating a lot against us.  We need to take another step and keep working on it."
Finally, with respect to the backing the fans will give the team during the Tenerife match, the captain said that "we have to spread it from the pitch.  There are demands at this club, and we have to get the fans involved and make them back us."
