The coach of Real Oviedo, Luis Carrión, appeared in the press room after the 0-2 defeat against RCD Espanyol at the Carlos Tartiere stadium. The Oviedo coach analyzed the match, acknowledging the lack of offensive accuracy and the need to keep working to improve.
"We lacked offensive volume. We need to create more crossing opportunities and get more players into the box. It's something we need to work on," explained Carrión, who acknowledged the need to increase presence in the opponent's half.
In his return debut on the Carbayón bench, the coach said he experienced the match with emotion, though saddened by the result: "It was emotional to be back, with the disappointment of the result. I had high hopes for this match. I think it's a defeat that overshadows everything. We are here to keep going and earn points, and that's what we will focus on."
Carrión emphasized the importance of maintaining focus after conceding the first goal: "After the first goal, it was a letdown for everyone. What we need to work on is what happens after that moment. We need to cross more, occupy the box better, and dare to take more shots. We have players who can do it, and we need to create more danger."
In this regard, the Oviedo coach highlighted the positive aspects of the team's play, especially in ball circulation situations: "That's where we need to build on to keep growing," noted Carrión.
Finally, despite the result, the blue coach wanted to highlight the attitude of his players and the support of the Tartiere crowd: "The players will lift their heads, and we will move forward. What I want is for everyone to support the team, and today they did."
