Real Oviedo defender Eric Bailly appeared this Wednesday in the press room at El Requexón to analyze the current situation of the blue team ahead of next Sunday's match against Getafe CF at the Carlos Tartiere.

The Oviedo center-back acknowledged the difficult moment the team is going through after the latest results, although he emphasized the importance of continuing to compete until the end. “The team cannot be doing well after the last two games. There was hope to win against Elche and Betis to stay in the fight, but it wasn’t possible. We just have to try to give a good performance, try to beat Getafe, and bring some joy to the fans,” he said.

In the same vein, Bailly assured that the locker room maintains the ambition to fight as long as there are mathematical chances. “Until the last game where we have chances, we have to fight, even if they are very slim. I just want to focus on us, on trying to finish the season well, and on beating Getafe,” he explained.

The blue defender also analyzed the team's progress throughout the season and regretted not being able to maintain the consistency shown in some matches. “LaLiga is a very difficult competition. There was a moment when we were doing well, winning away games. Against Villarreal, we played a good match and had chances to win, but then we couldn’t against Elche,” he commented.

On a personal level, Bailly stated that he feels comfortable in Oviedo and satisfied with his performance this season. “I feel good in Oviedo. Personally, I am very happy, physically I feel good, and I’ve had continuity,” he indicated.

Additionally, the Ivorian international spoke about the possibility of playing in the next World Cup with his national team. “Every player dreams of playing in a World Cup with their country. I’m in contact with the federation, and I can only try to give my best in the remaining matches,” he concluded.
