Real Oviedo and Antonio Rivas have reached an agreement to extend the contract of the current Academy Director for one more season. The former blue footballer, who has held the position since 2021, will continue leading the planning of the Club's youth categories during the 2026/2027 campaign.
Antonio Rivas Martínez, 61 years old, was born in Alcázar de San Juan in 1965. During his time as a footballer, Rivas wore the carbayón jersey for 10 seasons in the First Division, playing in more than 250 matches in the top tier of Spanish football.
After his playing career, the Ciudad Real native began his second stint at the Club in the 2001/2002 season, taking charge of the National League team and later the reserve team. Subsequently, he assumed the management of the first team, a role he held until the 2005/2006 season, achieving promotion to the former Second Division B.
With this renewal, Grupo Pachuca and Real Oviedo strengthen their commitment to the stability and continuity of the youth academy model developed in recent years, with the aim of continuing to foster homegrown talent.
