Real Oviedo Head Coach, Juan Antonio Anquela today appeared in the Press Room to evaluate the week’s training. Admitting that “it is easier to work calmly after winning”, he insisted that, “my work rate is always the same. I am always intense and it shows. Things seemed quite a bit worse a couple of weeks ago than they do now. We can’t be inconsistent with our results now. We must stay calm through the good and bad times.”

Following the victory in Tarragona, the Real Oviedo Coach warned that, “Valladolid is another story. We will see if we are capable of doing everything well enough in order to compete with a good team. It all depends on the day you have, as long as you compete. Real Valladolid are a very good team, like they all are in this league.”

Asked about the return of Johannesson, Anquela stated that, “Diegui is always happy. He is the life of the party. He’s very happy. I’m very happy that he’s played for his national team, and represented Real Oviedo outside our own country.”

With respect to the formation used in the last few matches and the possibility of repeating it in Valladolid, the Coach didn’t want to give anything away. “We have many variations which mean the team can compete. We will use whichever we see fit. What we must not do is make a mistake.”

In addition, talking about what worries him in the Valladolid side, Anquela said that, “they have the top scorer, fine players on the wing and in the centre of the pitch. It’s a very good team that will challenge at the top of the table. Their players perform at a very good level, which turns them into a team that can, and will, be up towards the top of the table.”

With the possibility of claiming a third consecutive victory, the Head Coach admitted that, “it’s always difficult in this division, but you never know. That’s how runs of form go, and what we can’t do is become inconsistent. We are looking forward, but only as far as the next match in Valladolid,” he concluded.
