Real Oviedo Head Coach Juan Antonio Anquela appeared in the Press Room this morning at El Requexón, ahead of Saturday’s match against UD Las Palmas at the Carlos Tartiere.

The Jaen-born coach began his remarks by stating that the the draw against Dépor left him dissatisfied, “because we wanted to win. We wanted those three points, and one wasn’t enough. The best thing was that we competed well against against a great side.”

The Coach went on to say that another great team visits the Tartiere this Saturday. “You look at the Las Palmas squad and there’s not much more to say. They are a great side, with a good coach. They are going to fight until the end, I have no doubts about that.”

Speaking about the reverse fixture, Anquela stated that “we did not play poorly and were close to winning it in the first half. In the end we drew what was a strange game. I think that we competed, we played well and the team never gave up during the match. I am concerned now about what we are going to face, because they are a team built for promotion. If we don’t reach our level, then we won’t be able to win. The other day we gave 120% and only got a draw."

Addressing Tejera’s injury, the coach stated that “I am concerned that we will be missing a footballer like Tejera, but we have to keep calm, because I’m sure that whoever takes his spot will do well.”

When asked about the departure of Ángel Martín and the arrival of Michu, Anquela concluded by saying that “Ángel is still here, we haven’t said goodbye to him just yet, and Michu’s arrival has to be a morale boost. Having Michu nearby is always a good thing for everyone.”
