Oviedo breathed football right from this morning, and the Carlos Tartiere crowd did not want to let its team down, getting back to singing and enjoying another victory.
There were changes in today's line-up, with Samu Obeng coming in to partner Borja Bastón in attack, Sangalli on the right, Viti on the left, and David Costas back in the heart of the defence. The team was up against a Mirandés side which went into the game safe in the knowledge that they have avoided relegation. Real Oviedo sent warning signs right from the opening minutes. Sangalli had one very good opportunity, before Obeng was denied from a one-on-one. The Ghanaian forward made amends with his next opportunity, slotting home to open the scoring. The next period of the game saw Mirandés dominate possession but unable to threaten. A Javi Mier strike went close, but the two teams went in for halftime with the score 1-0.
Real Oviedo came out more strongly for the second half, and VAR would intervene to award a penalty, after Marco Sangalli was brought down in the area. Borja Bastón converted to make the score 2-0, before Joni Montiel ran through and fired home clinically to seal a 3-0 victory.
The Tartiere was bouncing once again, as the team took a step closer to its objective.
