Mondays are about leadership, and today the first team's training session was led by an Olympic sportsman and European Triathlon runner-up.  It was Fernando Alarza's turn to lead the latest Monday online group session for the first team.  A leader in his field, in charge for the day.
Following Samuel Sánchez and Ibon Zugasti in bringing increased demands to the first training session of the week, this morning the triathlete from Talavera de la Reina was the one to set the pace of a tough quarantine training session.  Cuco Ziganda's players were taken by surprise once more, being woken up to the workload of another week with the motivation of training with a great champion.  Fernando Alarza, who competed in the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, was crowned the European Triathlon runner-up in 2018.  He also won Ironman 70.3 in Cascais in the same year.  In recent years he has been in the top 6 in the World Championship in his sport.
The training session consisted of an hour of spinning work, with intervals.  All of the first-team players used the exercise bikes which were supplied to them at their homes by GoFit during the first week of quarantine.
Thank you very much, Fernando!  It was a pleasure to work with you.
