Real Oviedo Head Coach Álvaro Cervera appeared before the media in the Press Room at El Requexón ahead of the midweek fixture.

Going into the match against Villarreal B, the Gaffer analysed the current state of the squad, saying "Jimmy is recovering from the knock he had. The doctors have said to me that today was the last day with the knock, and that then he should be better. We have a long journey coming up and a training session on an artificial pitch, and I think we have to wait. Viti has a knock too. I won't name the matchday squad early, but we have seven or eight players out."

Asked about the impact of injuries when picking the starting eleven, Cervera commented that "they don't affect me in terms of our play, but we will have to do things that we aren't used to doing. We have to come through this however we can; our moment is going to arrive."

With respect to what he wants to see from Real Oviedo in Villarreal, the Coach stated that "I didn't like it against Málaga, but we waited and got our reward. In Vitoria, against one of the league leaders, I liked it, but then we lost. Football is like that. I always prefer to win, but I like to see a team like the one I saw in Vitoria."

Finally, regarding the next opponent, Álvaro Cervera highlighted that "it is the top scoring team, and also the team that has conceded the most goals. You can get there and they score a few, or the opposite can happen, but we have to be prepared. It is not going to be an easy match."
