Real Oviedo Head Coach Álvaro Cervera appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón today.

He began the press conference by discussing injury absentees going in to the Leganés fixture. "We definitely have Pomares, Rodri (Tarín) and Jimmy out. Camarasa has been out too, but he's ready to travel and to play. Leo Sequeira is receiving treatment, but I don't think that his is anything serious."

With respect to morale in the squad, the Gaffer admitted that "it changes each day. When training sessions go well then everything is good. If they only go ok then you are a bit sadder. We aren't in a position to celebrate, but if we aren't in good spirits then we can't put in a good performance. I am the same. I lock myself away and look at things. I go over and over things so that everything goes well at last."

Asked about how the team's league position affects the week's work, Cervera reasoned that "the situation is real. There was a time when there were teams between us and the relegation zone. Now they are within six points, it feels like they are very close to us, and it is worrying."

Regarding what the team needs to do in order to get wins, Cervera commented that "we have to look for things which improve the team. We are reliable defensively, we make our opponents feel uncomfortable, but with the ball we aren't managing to hurt teams in the way we need to. It's not just about saying it, we need to make the players find good morale."

Asked about the expected large turnout of away supporters, the Coach admitted that "we can only thank the fans. Being there in Madrid with the team deserves credit. I only ask that they back us. We are doing everything to win."

Finally, discussing the next opponent, the Gaffer highlighted that "we are two very different teams. They have four or five players who are very good on the ball, but their way of playing has seen them go on differing runs of form. We are on a bad run like they are. We have to stay strong and create danger in the opposition's box."
