Real Oviedo Head Coach Álvaro Cervera appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón this Friday. Going into Sunday's match, the Gaffer argued that "the team competes better in this type of match and against this type of opponent. It has a clearer idea of how to approach this type of match, even if all of the matches are equally difficult."

The victory against Leganés was a very important one, and Cervera explained that "if we hadn't won the other day then we would have been much closer to the relegation zone. We feel a bit calmer now."

The team has now kept two consecutive clean sheets, and the Coach is very conscious of the importance of that fact. "We have been good defensively, except for the matches against Andorra and Cartagena. Teams don't normally get to have too many shots against us, but we were unfortunate in some matches, such as the one against Villarreal B. The only way of getting points and wins is by keeping clean sheets."

Finally, Álvaro Cervera discussed the bottom of the table and the fight for survival, saying that "there are three teams that are a little way off survival in Lugo, Ibiza, and Málaga, but they still have a chance. Ponferradina are closer, and then there are other teams that are down there."
