Real Oviedo Vetusta were back at El Requexón today as they came up against Real Valladolid Promesas in Matchday 27 in Grupo 1 of the Segunda RFEF. After securing victory in Zamora last week, the B team wanted to pick up back-to-back wins, and Jaime Álvarez opted for a starting eleven made up of Berto; Charbel, Javi Moreno, René Pérez, Osky; Yayo, A. Cardero, Iván, Enol, Sesé; and Masca. The team lined up with t-shirts showing messages of support for Lucas Laso prior to the match, with the centre back having recently suffered a torn ACL.

The match began with Vetusta looking to carry the initiative and attempting to stop the visitors from playing their usual game. The opening minutes were tight, before Álex Cardero had the first chance in the 5th minute. The attacking midfielder met a left-wing cross on the volley, but his effort was denied by the keeper. The B team continued to be on top and would get their reward in the 24th minute when Masca applied the finishing touch to a fine Charbel cross to open the scoring.

The game continued in a similar pattern following the opening goal, although Valladolid Promesas pushed forward in the final moments before the interval. One such attack would see Pozo fire home a fine strike from outside the area which left Berto powerless, and which made the score 1-1. The teams went in for halftime with the score 1-1.

The away side would take the lead five minutes after the interval, as Pozo added his second goal of the game. Nevertheless, Vetusta did not let their heads drop and Jaime Álvarez made a triple substitution as he looked to turn the game around. Miguel Cuesta, Víctor Blanco, and Marco Esteban came on in the 50th minute. The Asturians began to dominate the match once more, and Álex Cardero would provide the reward for the efforts by equalising in the 69th minute. The 'Number 10' met another great Charbel cross at the back post to make the score 2-2.

With the scores level once more, Los Azules would go in search of a winning goal, but fell behind again in the 78th minute when Fran Rivera made the score 3-2. Vetusta laid siege to the visitors' goal during the final ten minutes and stoppage time, but were unable to find the way through. They fell to defeat, despite their performance having been deserving of more. Having picked up 12 of the last 15 points available, Los Azules will look to get back to winning ways against Guijuelo next time out.
