Real Oviedo defender Oswaldo Alanís appeared in the Press Room today at El Requexón.

Ahead of a new week of training, the “Carbayón” defender noted that “we are in good spirits, with hopes of continuing to get better. We have to analyse what we are doing and strengthen the good things in order to get results. Now is the time to think about the next match and do things well in order to keep this momentum. We want to keep pressing forward.”

Speaking about the factors influencing the team’s form in 2019, the Mexican believes that “it is all happening because of our hard work and confidence, and us all being in sync. We are understanding each other well and making the most of our form. In order to think about big things, we need to earn a lot of points and focus on what we are doing. We have analysed the matches and we know that we have to correct things.”

More specifically about the things that the team should correct, the Real Oviedo centre back understands that “they are specific details of the game that may not be reflected on the scoreboard, but if we correct them, we will be closer to victory. We cannot settle for where we are. We have to keep working and go into each match with a positive attitude.”

Asked about his feelings on an individual level, Oswaldo affirmed that “we came here to add to the group and do great things. We have to work hard first and then we can think about what we can achieve. The keys to doing great things are hard work and continuing to earn points.”

Finally, regarding the next opponent, Albacete, Alanís concluded that “they have very good players that score a lot of goals. We have to pay attention to their men up top, but if we play our game and are focused, we can take something positive away from it. It’s not just about something on the defensive side, but a team effort.”
