Real Oviedo attacking player, Aarón Ñíguez, appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón following the first team’s latest training session.

Asked about the start to the season after the first five games, Aarón said that “we are picking up points and are feeling good, but there’s a long way to go. We are only thinking about the next match. The team is getting better as the matches go by. We want to continue this progression as we still have room to improve. This is only just getting started.”

With respect to how he is feeling personally, Aarón highlighted that, “I am gradually feeling better physically. I am finding my rhythm, and feeling good.” Furthermore, when asked whether he prefers playing on the wing or
in attacking midfield, Aarón stated that, “I am at the service of the coaching staff. I will play wherever they need me, I am comfortable as an attacking midfielder. The Coach tells me to get involved with the players up front, to be direct and intense.”

This weekend Real Oviedo visit Albacete; bottom of the table with one point at this early stage of the season. Regarding Sunday’s opponents, the winger declared that “they are a team with good players. Mentally, they
will want points, but we will be going for the three points and playing our own game.”

When questioned about what Real Oviedo needs in order to win at the Carlos Belmonte, Aarón Ñíguez said that “in the Segunda División you must be together, both in attack and in defence. If we can keep a clean sheet then that’s great, because we will be a step closer to winning.”

Finally, with respect to the team’s position in the table (seventh, with eight points), the Real Oviedo attacker believes that “right now it doesn’t really matter. The more points we get the better; we must go out to win.
We don’t need to look at our position yet, that will come later,” he concluded.
