Academia Ajuwa Real Oviedo is two victories away from becoming crowned champion of the Lagos Under-23 league, for the first time in its history

With two matchdays remaining in the Lagos Under-23 league, the most prestigious division in Nigeria for the age group, Academia Ajuwa Real Oviedo currently sit top of the table, with a real shot at being crowned the league champions for the first time in the side's history.
The Real Oviedo Foundation's project in Nigeria, in addition to its educational and social nature, seeks footballing development for all members of the academy. The side has seen great growth this year, as reflected in its league position.
The team is one of the youngest in the division, with footballers aged between 15 and 18. So far they have picked up 11 victories, 3 draws, and 3 defeats from the 17 games played this season, and are currently a point ahead of Box 2 Box FC.
Academia Ajuwa Real Oviedo was born in 2018 and provides more than 50 Nigerian youngsters with the necessary resources to develop their talents, with Real Oviedo supporting them. The programme is not only carried out in Nigeria itself, however. Several players from the academy have moved to Oviedo to join the club's youth academy.
