The Press Room at El Requexón today provided the backdrop as Viti was presented with November's 'Jugador Cinco Estrellas' Player of the Month award. The Asturian has been one of the key men during the first half of the season, bringing pace, dribbling and attacking threat to the side, and he has now been recognised by supporters. The fans chose between the five players nominated by the beer company through their Twitter profile @futbolmahou.
After receiving the award and speaking to the media, the academy graduate responded to questions put to him by Oviedistas via social media:
What does receiving this prize mean to you?
- For me it's a source of pride. I am grateful to the fans, who have always treated me perfectly. I've always felt backed. I'd like to thank my teammates, because I wouldn't have been able to win it without them.
Do you feel proud to carry the Laviana name with you around Spain?
- I'm a village boy. I'm proud to have come from Laviana. I will always have that pride when I am able to talk about my village and take it with me around the world.
Have you followed any new habits or treatments in order to be able to leave your injuries behind?
- No, nothing has changed. Mentally, as years have gone by, I've matured.
Who is your footballing idol?
- I don't have any particular idol. When I was younger, purely because of closeness, Canella was a reference point. He played for Alcáva and he has been a reference point for all of the boys in Laviana.
What do you eat for breakfast to let you run at the speed of a bullet?
- The truth is that I usually eat fruit for breakfast every day, usually papaya.
