Real Oviedo Vetusta travelled to the Municipal de Tabira stadium this afternoon to face Cultural de Durango, in what was the final fixture of the season for Javi Rozada’s side. ‘Los Azules’ triumphed 3-1 over the Basque outfit.

The clinical finishing of the Asturians stood out during the first half. The B team dominated the match through possession of the ball and made the most of the directness of their wide men. Borja Sánchez gave the side the lead from one such passage of play. Just one minute later, Borja turned provider, assisting Cueto for the second goal of the game. After falling two behind, Durango took a step forward and looked to cut the lead. They were denied by some fine interventions by Lucas and great defensive solidity in ‘Los Carbayones.’ The sides went in for halftime with the score 0-2. Durango and Vetusta both created opportunities in the second half. The hosts did manage to cut the deficit, but Andoni sealed a 3-1 victory when the ball broke free from a corner.

Real Oviedo Vetusta brought the current season to a close with a victory and have crowned themselves the best B team in the club’s history.
