Real Oviedo midfielder, Sergio Tejera, appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón today.

After the latest training session, the Catalan stated that “the team is doing fine, and has a lot of hope and hunger. We still have a chance and we will go for the three points in Tenerife.”

Regarding the feeling in the changing room, Tejera emphasised that “we are aware that we need to win at all costs, and that is the message. We will go after the game right from the kick-off; that’s our mentality. The team has narrowly missed out on the playoffs for a few years now, but we have to believe in this group. We ask that the fans are with us and that they believe, because together we are stronger. We need to go hand-in-hand along the way. The message is to win, it is the only thing that counts, and that is our approach.”

When asked about the situation that Tenerife is experiencing right now, battling to avoid relegation, Tejera believes that “it’s difficult; I have experienced it before. It will be a tense match; it will not be pleasant. They have pressure and motivation, but we have our own objectives. We have a nice challenge ahead of us and we will go for it.”

Lastly, with respect to the absentees, the midfielder said that “the players are in form, and are prepared. We have important players out, but the squad has plenty of quality and whoever fills in will give everything.”
