Real Oviedo Head Coach Cuco Ziganda appeared before the Media this morning in the Press Room at El Requexón.
After what has been a tough week following the defeat in Las Palmas, Ziganda explained that “we are all disappointed but little by little we have been working and becoming aware of what we must do. The fans push us and say that they will believe in us until the end. We want to have a great game and play with a clear conscience, focusing on that. It is our obligation and we’re focused on it.” Regarding preparations for the match, the Coach was clear that, “we have the experience from the game with Zaragoza. We have to be able to avoid switching off and be focused on our own game for the full 90 minutes.”
Concentrating solely on the opponent, Ibiza, Ziganda stressed the same message, stating that football is unpredictable. “Normally whoever has something at stake wins. But this is football. It happened in the First Division last weekend. If we play in the playoffs, it will be because of our own merits, and if not, then it will still be because of us."
What Ziganda is most concerned with is “Ibiza and ourselves. It’s a team that plays well both at home and away. We have to know how to hold our ground, play a good game and continue to play the way we have at home. We respect our fans a lot. We will show them that we are a team that has reached 65 points, that has achieved 6 consecutive victories, and that we are capable of creating chances and scoring many goals. We hope that the people will be happy and satisfied with this team. There will be 20,000 people there and that gives us a great boost. People continue to believe in us, and there will be a spectacular atmosphere.”
