Real Oviedo Head Coach Cuco Ziganda appeared before the press this morning ahead of tomorrow's trip to face Ponferradina at El Toralín. He explained that the match has the "added complication of Ponferradina being in great form. They are growing, little by little but relentlessly, in recent years. They are doing very well. The ground also puts you under a lot of pressure, they have a very good atmosphere, but we are going to play our game. We need to win. We know that it's not a 'cup final' for anybody, but we also know the rush that there is in football. We haven't won for a while, and we are hungry and need to win."
Regarding the coming week, with three matches in eight days and the players he will have available for Sunday, the Coach said that "first of all we had to check the players and see how they were after Thursday, and how the players who got knocks were...but every team is in the same position and there's no problem."
With respect to the defeat, Ziganda reasoned that "it was a hard blow. We'd been on a run of draws and all we had in our heads was winning. In the end we broke the run, but in the wrong way. It was a hard blow, but we have to recover as soon as possible, because this is about being strong. You feel like you're on a cloud after winning, while defeats have you on the floor, but we have to stand firm, believe in what we are doing, understand how our fans feel, and know that changing our form is in our own hands."
Finally, asked about his individual situation, the Gaffer stated that "I'm only thinking about tomorrow, that's all that's in my head. We all want the same thing, which is to win. Timeframes in football are what they are, and there is a rush. We take on pressure at a club like Real Oviedo. I will approach the game with the utmost seriousness and conviction, just like I do every match. All coaches take on the pressure that surrounds each result and the role of the coach."
