Real Oviedo Head Coach Cuco Ziganda appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón today, where he responded to questions put to him by the media ahead of Sunday's fixture against Girona.
Heading into the match at Montilivi, the Coach has stressed a mentality of "every match being important", because "when we play against a team that is currently close to us in the table, picking up points and opening up gaps would give us time to do anything. We would take it as a morale boost. We have to keep fighting, playing, and giving it everything in every match. Nothing is won at this stage of the season, there's still a lot to play for."
Asked about the aim of bouncing back from last weekend's setback against Real Sociedad B, Ziganda admitted that "we have all the hunger in the world. The other day was a great disappointment, we had wanted to get the win. The differences between the teams are minor and we have to take each game in the same way, regardless of the opposition. This all goes on and there's no point feeling sorry for ourselves. We have to accept what we did badly and recognise the things we do well. It's an even division and we can see that. We are in a position from which we want to push upwards."
Finally, asked about the possible loss of an attacking threat, Ziganda was clear that "we all live football with intensity and passion. If you let yourself get carried away by that current then you can lose perspective on everything. We are a well-built team. We know that we haven't been at our best offensively, but that's not been the case all season. Matches are getting tighter and we have to get used to this type of match too."
