Santa Cruz turned blue today, with Jaime Álvarez's side showing hard work and attitude to defeat Gijón Industrial and pick up a fifth consecutive victory.

Los Azules emerged for today's game with a starting eleven made up of Marco, Javi Moreno, René Pérez, Lucas Laso, Osky, Yayo, Mangel, Álex Cardero, Eloy Ordóñez, Abel Bretones and Javi Cueto.

Vetusta soon took the lead, with Javi Cueto opening the scoring within the first minute. The bad news of the half came with an injury to Abel Bretones. The remainder of the opening forty-five minutes saw Gijón Industrial and Real Oviedo Vetusta go toe-to-toe, and each create chances.

Los Carbayones dominated the second half, taking control of the encounter. Pedregal came on halfway through the second half, just before Lucas Laso doubled the lead for the side from the capital of Asturias. Merayo and Joselu came on in the final changes of the match.

This fifth consecutive triumph leaves the B team top of the table ahead of the next fixture, which will see them face Titánico de Laviana.
