Real Oviedo Head Coach Cuco Ziganda appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón today ahead of this weekend's fixture against Real Valladolid.
Discussing the absences of Mossa and Bolaño, through suspension and injury respectively, and the possibility of Pierre Cornud being available for the encounter, Ziganda commented that "he's done quite a lot of work with the group this week. He's being doing work at a high level, but he's not trained at 100% for two or three weeks. We do also have Carlos (Isaac) and Lucas. If Pierre isn't ready then Lucas will play."
Asked about the manner in which the team has approached this week, the Coach admitted that "it's been different since we are coming off the back of two consecutive defeats. The last few weeks had been exciting and we were close to getting into a playoff spot. There was some disappointment, but we have to turn this around. Football is about certain moments, and we have to know how to live with them. We have to focus on today, on Sunday, and on the big match we have. Valladolid are going to cause us problems, but it's our opportunity to turn this around."
Regarding this Sunday's match, the Gaffer stated that "based on numbers, Valladolid are the best team in the division. They are in good form. We have to play our own game, and be aware that we need to have the confidence to put in a good performance in a difficult match at the Carlos Tartiere."
Finally, with respect to his feelings about having fallen to two consecutive defeats for the first time this season, Ziganda highlighted that "I try to stay calm. When things don't go right I'm not happy, and I feel different when they do work out. The fans, with their passion, are what keep clubs going. We have to be clear about what we want, focus on one idea and believe in it until the end. We are focused on our day-to-day work and on preparing the week. I like being here, and I believe in what I am doing and what is coming. I really enjoy it. I am aware that things don't always go the way you want them to."
