La Romareda today hosted the twelfth match of the season for Ziganda'sside, as they visited Real Zaragoza. The match ended in a 2-1 away win for the Asturians.
Sticking to the same eleven which had won against Castellón last time out, Los Azules started this away match in an organised fashion. They also managed to threaten the opposition's goal, but without being able to convert their chances. Ziganda's team controlled the encounter, making it difficult for Zaragoza to find any way through to Femenías' goal. One isolated incident saw the Aragon side open the scoring, though, with Bolaño diverting the goal into his own net. This setback saw Los Azules lose their focus temporarily and gave Real Zaragoza new life. However, the final minutes of the half saw Real Oviedo regain the ball, with greater possession and attacking presence. The final passage of play of the first half saw a fine Borja Sánchez header from a corner level the scoring.
After the interval, Los Carbayones were solid in defence once more, not giving away any goal scoring opportunities. A move down the left wing, begun by Mossa, led to Tejera swinging a cross in towards the penalty spot and Blanco Leschuk tucking home his first goal in a Real Oviedo shirt to make the score 2-1. Los Azules had chances to seal the win after taking the lead, but couldn't make the most of them. Samuel Obeng and Javi Mier came on, and so did Lucas Ahijado and Cedric later on. Zaragoza took control of the match, but Los Azules used counter attacks to look to extend their lead. One such passage of play saw Nahuel going through one-on-one with the keeper, before a Zaragoza defender stuck out a hand to intercept, resulting in the latter receiving a red card. Femenías made two saves in the final minutes.
Following their third consecutive victory, Ziganda's side will return to Asturias tomorrow. On Sunday they will begin to prepare for next weekend's fixture against Fuenlabrada.
