Having now scored his first Real Oviedo goal, Gustavo Blanco Leschuk this morning responded to the first question put to him by the media in a very honest way: "I'm feeling liberated, because it's very important for forwards to be able to convert chances. I was able to do so and I am very happy. There are eleven of us playing and the important thing is the team getting the victory, but obviously it's important for forwards to score."
"Comfortable" with any teammate alongside him, Gustavo also praised his connection with Nahuel, explaining that "we have something special. We are always talking, both on and off the pitch." Meanwhile, aware of the importance of the day-to-day work, Blanco Leschuk said that "what makes us improve the most is training."
Asked about the message which Cuco Ziganda gave him during the matches in which he hadn't found the back of the net, the striker said that "he told me that if I was in the box then the ball would definitely drop to me at some point. Eventually I would have to score from one of the chances. That was the confidence he gave me. That's what I did, and fortunately the goal came."
With respect to his importance to the team's game, Gustavo reasoned that "there are eleven of us playing, and if we are all focused on the same things then we will achieve more than we would otherwise."
The striker is now adapted to his life in Oviedo and "happy and satisfied." He is looking forward to his family coming to join him, while the objective now "is the next match; we are focused on what's coming next," without looking any further ahead.
