Joan Femenías today visited the Press Room at El Requexón, responding to the questions put to him by members of the Press. Discussing the team's return to training, the Real Oviedo goalkeeper described his "hunger to prepare the week's work in order to achieve a victory at the weekend".
This is a special week for the goalkeeper, given that the opponent is his former club, Fuenlabrada. He described them as "one of the most difficult teams", highlighting that "they are a tight group with clear ideas, who compete very well." Joan explained that "I have friends there. I was able to grow there, and I am grateful to have been able to reach professional football with them. However, every match has an extra motivation, and we are going to go for the three points."
This Saturday's match see the club have another chance to get three points, in what would be a fourth consecutive victory for Los Azules and would strengthen still further the good feeling which has been surrounding the team in recent matches. Regarding that fact, Femenías stated that "the team has believed in what it was doing, we showed perseverance, and we all stuck together. That was the key to achieving three consecutive victories. We have to keep going like this in order to achieve the consistency that we all want."
On a personal level, having started ten matches and earned a place as a regular starter, the keeper showed a high level of self-demands, arguing that "I have room to improve. I am focused on working on all areas of the game. I am doing well in the team, but I have to keep working hard and learning."
In response to a question asking how he handled being a substitute in the two matches which Brazão started, the goalkeeper said that "I took it in the normal way, by working hard and consistently. This is a team, we are all important, and that's what the Coach tells us. The team is the important thing."
Finally, discussing the team's objective, Joan reasoned that "it's too soon to say where we are going to end up. We are dreaming big. That comes from a foundation of working to be the best in training sessions and in matches."
