Real Oviedo academy graduate, Viti Rozada, who started on Sunday against CD Lugo, appeared in the Press Room today at El Requexón, after the team returned to training.
The Asturian said that “the squad was a bit annoyed with the draw. It’s tough when the victory gets away from you in the last few minutes. Lugo were worthy of their goal, and we did not manage ball possession well in the final minutes. This division can be like that. If you have chances but miss them, then you’ll end up paying for it later on. That’s what happened.”
Regarding his own role, Viti was “satisfied to have played so many minutes. I’m happy with the trust that the Coach has placed in me since day one, and I am pleased to be able to repay him. We were looking for continuity, and now I am enjoying being able to train and play, and I am doing well physically. The perfect match would have seen us get those three points and the team win, and that might have been better than me playing well. I am grateful to the fans, because they have always treated me fantastically.”
Finally, with respect to his relationship with Diegui, Viti concluded that “I am very happy, because we understand each other’s games.” However, he also believes that his competition within the squad are “amazing players, who are on another level”, even though he continue “working to earn myself an opportunity.”
