The penultimate preseason friendly saw Sergio Egea’s side produce a better performance, albeit without creating too many chances. They were untroubled defensively, while they scored in the final stages to gain the reward they deserved for the attacks they did put together.

The Asturians had three clear chances in the first half and dominated possession. First, Ibra met a corner, but his effort went wide. Steven’s first-time attempt from a Mossa cross was then off-target, before his header from a Borja Sánchez pass grazed the post.

Real Oviedo made changes after the break but didn’t lose control of possession. They were solid in defence, and finally made the most of their attacks with a fine Ibra goal from an Obeng pass. The strike was enough to give Real Oviedo the victory, ahead of their final preseason match this Saturday, when they will face Deportivo Alavés.
