The Press Room at the Carlos Tartiere today played host to the official presentation of Juanjo Nieto as a Real Oviedo player.
The full back was accompanied by the club's Director of Football, Miguel Pérez Cuesta 'Michu', who began by welcoming him and wishing him all the luck in the world.
The right back then spoke to the press, beginning by giving "thanks to everyone for the welcome."
Regarding signing for Real Oviedo, the Valencian commented that "I had offers on the table, but the option to come here was the priority. I wanted to be here, and here I am."
With respect to the competition at right back, the new 'Carbayón' player highlighted that "when there's competition it's good for the player and for the team. It makes players better. We work together for the good of the team."
Regarding Real Oviedo, Juanjo stated that "it's a first-division club. There are demands and a target. We have to work to be able to achieve it." In addition, speaking about what he can bring to the squad, the full back said that "I'm hardworking, professional and committed to team. I'll give everything to get everything. Adaptation will come through work. I trust I'll be able to adapt soon. At Hércules, our target was promotion. It's another level here. I will work with the demands required."
Finally, asked if he is now available to help the team, Juanjo concluded by stating that "I've been taking care of myself. I'm feeling good. The Coach will decide when he wants to try me. I've not spoken to him yet, but I'll have my first contact with him this afternoon."
