The second friendly match of the preseason took place in the same venue as last time, and the home kit was worn for the first time, although the match was marked by an intense rain that was the main storyline for a few minutes at El Requexón. Juan Antonio Anquela´s team dominated the game, with skill, opportunities and goals against UD Sanse, who practically didn’t even challenge Champagne in the first half, nor Alfonso in the second.

The match began with a starting eleven in which Steven was the central forward assisted by Saúl and Aarón on the wings. The first two scoring attempts were initiated by the wings, with both going wide of the goal. In the 15th minute of the match, after a good combination, the first goal was scored by Steven. The rain intensified, and the amount of opportunities to score decreased. Carlos Martinez was replaced by Lucas after newly completing more than half an hour of play-time and improving his rhythm and feel for the right back. Close to halftime the second goal arrived for Los Azules. Steven scored the 2-0, finishing on a low pass from Saúl Berjón coming from the left side. Aarón and Boateng were the main protagonists in the final attack before returning to the locker room with the team, although both of their attempts were rejected by the keeper.

In the second half, Anquela put in an entirely new group of eleven players, once again alternating the first team players with those that are training with the first team during the preseason. Toché had the clearest opportunity in the 52nd minute, attempting a header in a pass from Tejera. The ball ended up skimming the post. Two new attempts by Asier, and later by Toché wide of the net, could have boosted the scoreboard. It was in the84th minute when, on a corner kick by Tejera, the number nine Oviedista scored the third and final goal of the match. Toché scored the 3-0 with a header. Another attempt by Carlos Hernández put an end to the second scrimmage of the preseason in El Requexón.

The first team will enjoy a day off tomorrow, and they will start their training again on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at El Requexón.
