Real Oviedo and Alcorcón went head-to-head at the Carlos Tartiere this Sunday, with Los Azules securing a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Seoane and Camarasa.
For today's match against the Madrid-based side, Luis Carrión opted for a starting eleven made up of Leo Román; Oier Luengo, David Costas, Dani Calvo, Abel Bretones; Viti, Colombatto, Santi Cazorla, Sebas Moyano; Seoane and Borja Bastón.
The Asturian side dominated the first half from start to finish, improving as the match went on and starting to open up gaps in the away defence before finally finding the opening goal. The strike came just on the stroke of halftime, when Jaime Seoane capitalised on a rebound in the area to turn the ball into an empty net. Los Azules went in for halftime with a 1-0 lead.
After the interval Alcorcón took a step forward in search of an equaliser, but the Real Oviedo defence, led by Costas and Calvo, made sure that the lead remained intact. With the match under control, Luis Carrión brought on Camarasa in place of Cazorla, who received a standing ovation following his first Real Oviedo start. Los Carbayones began to threaten more down the wings, and Carrión continued to make attacking substitutions. Alemão and Masca came on for Borja Bastón and Sebas Moyano to freshen up the attack. Masca went close to making the score 2-0, while Adai was the main threat for the visitors down the left wing. The home team finally sealed the victory late on, with two of the substitutes proving crucial. Alemão won a free kick on the wing, which Colombatto swung in perfectly for Camarasa to head home.
Three more points today at the Carlos Tartiere, and Real Oviedo will go into this week's cup match in high spirits thanks to their recent results and performances.
