El Requexón today hosted the latest fixture in Grupo II of the Segunda División B, which saw Real Oviedo Vetusta triumph 2-1 over Real Sociedad B.

‘Los Azules’, who came from behind to overcome an early strike from the visitors, produced a professional, intense performance. Ernesto was once again the star, with another two goals. The away side struck first from a  free kick just five minutes into the match. Despite the adverse circumstances, Real Oviedo Vetusta kept their composure and tirelessly sought out the opposition goal. Ernesto levelled the scores on the brink of halftime, meaning the two teams went in with the score 1-1. Vetusta dominated the second half, as Javi Rozada’s side stuck to what had been working for them and continued to create chances. Ernesto produced a fine header to make the score 2-1. The teams ended the match with ten players apiece, following Andoni Ugarte’s dismissal for a second yellow card, and a red for one of the visitors.

This victory for Real Oviedo Vetusta cut the gap to the playoff positions by three points following Barakaldo’s defeat yesterday. Next Saturday will see ‘Los Azules’ travel to Anduva to face Mirandés.
