Matchday 15 of the league season saw Real Oviedo Vetusta make the trip to the Álvarez Rabanal to face CD Covadonga, with the away team slipping to defeat.
Jaime Álvarez opted for a starting eleven made up of Berto Hórreo; Pablo Menéndez, Merayo, Javi Moreno, Osky; Mangel, Eloy Ordóñez, Álex Cardero, Yayo, David Iglesias and Javi Cueto. The side was not on its game today, and saw CD Covadonga seal victory in the second half.
Vetusta dominated and controlled the first half, enjoying good spells of possession in the opposition's half, but was unable to find the final ball. CD Covadonga sat back and waited for Los Azules to attack, making the most of long balls to try to hurt the B team. Javi Cueto had the best chance of the first half, but was denied by the keeper.
CD Covadonga were the better side after the interval and outplayed Vetusta. Los Azules looked to work their way through the home defence, but were frustrated by the hosts' backline, which did not allow Jaime Álvarez's men to threaten. CD Covadonga took the lead in the 55th minute and would add a second when the B team pushed forward in search of an equaliser. Joselu Guerra, Pedregal, Chus, Lucas Laso and Victor Matovu were all used as substitutes.
A bad performance today saw Jaime Álvarez's team fall to defeat at the Álvarez Rabanal. Despite the setback, Real Oviedo Vetusta stay top of the table, and will face L'Entregu at 16:00 next Saturday at El Requexón.
