El Requexón today played host to Real Oviedo Vetusta's first competitive match of the season, with the B team losing 0-1 against Unión Popular de Langreo.
The Real Oviedo Vetusta starting line-up was Berto Hórreo, Pedro Inglés, Ando, Guille Bernabéu, V. Teles, Ton Ripoll, Javi Cueto, David Ámez, Rober, Prada and Álex Suárez. Los Azules were the better side in the first half, dominating the play and enjoying the better chances, with Ripoll and Vanderson having the best opportunities of the opening 45 minutes. Emilio Cañedo's side controlled possession and used the pace of the wide men to threaten the visitor's goal, but the teams went in for halftime with the score 0-0.
The away side took a step further forward after the break, which caused Cañedo to turn to his bench and bring on Lorea. A move down the wing led to Langreo's goal, as the visitors opened the scoring midway through the second half. The Vetusta coach brought on Joselu and Fran Pacoli to look to dominate the ball and find an equaliser. Javi Cueto's free kick from the edge of the box went over the bar. Steven and Eloy Ordóñez came on in the final stages to strengthen the attack and continue the search to level the scores.
Real Oviedo fell to defeat in the first game of the season today. The Carbayón B team will play away at CD Covadonga next week.
