Real Oviedo Vetusta went into Matchday 12 in Grupo 1 of the Segunda RFEF against Club Marino de Luanco today looking to get a win to boost morale at El Requexón. Los Azules went into the encounter off the back of defeat against Rayo Cantabria and were looking for the victory to move up the table. Coach Jaime Álvarez opted for a starting eleven made up of Marco, Darío, Jaime V, Marco Esteban, Omar Falah, Yayo, Dieguito, Izan, Víctor Blanco, Miguélez and Enol.

Real Oviedo Vetusta began the match looking to take the initiative and pressure their opponent, and they took the lead in the 17th minute. A right-wing corner from Darío Hidalgo was turned home perfectly by Jaime Vázquez to make the score 1-0. Now with the lead, Los Azules continued with the same game plan. Marino de Luanco, meanwhile, looked to bounce back from the setback and enjoyed a bright spell following the goal, but did not create any clear chances before half-time.

The visitors took a step up after the interval and dominated the second half. Vetusta were forced to defend a lot and look to protect their advantage. Diego Díaz went close for the away side, but a great save from Marco denied him. However, in the final moments of the encounter David Grande would make the score 1-1 from a controversial passage of play. The forward made the most of the opportunity following a clear handball by his teammate to level the scoring in the 86th minute.

The 1-1 draw saw the points shared in this twelfth match of the league season, leaving a bittersweet taste in the mouths of Los Azules. Jaime Álvarez's side are now focused on next week's fixture against Arandina.
