Real Oviedo failed to secure all three vital points against CD Leganés, who are full on in the automatic promotion race.

During a levelled first half, the visitors tried to corner the Blues into their own half. Susaeta tried his luck on the Madrid side's goal on the second minute mark and Miño cleared a shot off the bar. First, it was Linares with a closed-in cross that Serantes found it hard to block and then it was Toché's turn to put the visiting goalkeeper to the test, with an attempt from the goal box that ended up in a corner kick.

In the second half, CD Leganés gained more control of the game and this gave way to their goal. Gabriel connected with a deflected ball in the penalty box and netted in his low shot as Miño was unable to prevent that goal. Then the Blues substitutions took place: Míchel, Koné and Real Oviedo U19s Viti, who made his debut playing for the first team, were the sought for boost Los Carbayones needed. Toché was brought down in the penalty box and a penalty kick was awarded to the Blues but Searantes saved Susaeta's shot from the twelve yards. Real Oviedo tried hard to score the equaliser until the very end, but failed to do it, getting a defeat that leaves them two points off the automatic promotion spots where their next rival, Real Zaragoza, stand.
