At La Romareda Real Oviedo said goodbye to every mathematical prospect of getting a promotion play-off spot to La Liga.

The Blues had a really intense start of the game, with a line-up where the U19s' player Viti replaced Susaeta on the right wing. It was Viti who had the first chance of the game when his right-footed attempt went wide after a cross from Koné on the right wing that Hervías had failed to reach. Miño deflected to corner kick Zaragoza's first attempt, but the locals netted in their goal after a save by Miño, whose deflection gave way to a shot that went over the line. From then on, Real Oviedo were set to attack steadily, but without any rewards, until half time.

In the first minutes of the second half, Generelo made some substitutions as Susaeta and Linares were brought on. Los Carbayones kept on attacking, but there were no real scares on Manu Herrera's goal. A goal scored by Koné was disallowed for offside and Real Oviedo could not manage to equalise either from free kicks or from corner kicks. Diego Cervero had the best chance after a corner kick from Susaeta, but his header went narrowly over the bar.

All in all, a defeat that leaves Real Oviedo with no options in the battle for a promotion play-off spot in the last fixture of the season next Saturday against CA Osasuna.
