Real Oviedo, through its Foundation, is fully immersed in its plan for brand expansion. It is doing so through educational and social projects, in which football and the values the club spreads are key pillars to the work being carried out.
Based in Lagos (Nigeria), the Ajuwa Real Oviedo Academy was created in 2018 to provide more than 50 youngsters in the African nation with the means necessary to cover their needs and to develop their footballing talent, with Real Oviedo the main backer behind the programme.
This social and footballing project has seen coaches from the club in the capital of Asturias travel to Nigeria to instil the Real Oviedo working methodology in the young Nigerians. The club's collaboration with local entities allows it to have accommodation, where the footballers are provided with their daily provisions, as well as with sports material and coaching from the Academy.
As a product of this project, a group of six players, all aged over 18 and selected by our coaches, will now continue their training by spending preseason with our academy sides. They will join up with the groups in the coming hours.
The Ajuwa Real Oviedo Academy is another step in the plan to develop the Real Oviedo brand far and wide around our planet, alongside the many other activities which the club is already undertaking on an international scale.
